WILMA LEA SMITH
Wilma Lea Smith, 72, of Cleveland, MO passed away on the morning of March 4th, 2016. She was a strong and happy woman, full of life and love, always ready with a smile and a kind word for everyone. Wilma made friends near and far, and is remembered by all as one of the strongest people they've come to know and cherish.
Wilma's funeral service will be at 11:00AM on Tuesday March 8th, 2016 at Cullen Funeral Home with visitation 6-8:00PM on Monday at the same location. Her burial will be in Raymore Cemetery, close to her home and the homes of her family. Memorial contributions can be made to Kansas City Hospice (1500 Meadow Lake Parkway, Suite 200 Kansas City, MO 64114), where Wilma was able to peacefully say her goodbyes and spend her last moments surrounded by absolute love and respect.
Wilma was born May 27, 1943 in Tunas, Missouri. Wilma was the daughter of Truman and Wanda (Starkey) Bishop and was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William R. "Bill" Smith. Wilma's legacy of strength and affection is continued by her loving children: Rich Smith, Bruce Smith (Jean), Elizabeth Leanne Taylor (Tom), Candi Coleman (James) as well as her beloved siblings: Bill Bishop (Martha), Rachael Valley, David Bishop (Wanda), Mike Bishop, Yvonne McGraw (Dorman). Wilma was also an adored mentor to her seven grandchildren: Aimee, Ryan, Lauren, Thomas "TJ", Zachary, Amanda and Melanie and was able to be part of the lives of two great-grandchildren: Kobe and Logan.
