WILLIAM "BILL" B. MATTINGLY, JR.
William "Bill" B. Mattingly, Jr., age 85, of Raymore, Missouri passed away July 17, 2017 at Research Medical Center, Belton, Missouri. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Visitation at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22, at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, Missouri. Burial will take place in the Raymore Cemetery, Raymore, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Salvation Army.
Bill was born June 30, 1932 in Fairfax, Missouri. He was the son of William B. Mattingly, Sr. and Edna Melvina (Lee) Mattingly. During the fall of 1952, Bill entered the Navy and served his country during the Korean War as a medic until the fall of 1956. During his time of duty, Bill worked at the Nike Missile Base.
In 1957, Bill was united in marriage to Loretta Ballard and together they raised a son, William B. Mattingly, III. For thirty years Bill supported his family and served his community as a Kansas City, Missouri police officer until his retirement. He was also a Freemason of Kansas City.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William B. Mattingly, Sr. and Edna Mattingly; his wife of 55 years, Loretta Mattingly; siblings, Wanda Mattingly and Jess Irvin Mattingly.
He is survived by his son William B. Mattingly, III; his sisters, Ruby Reid and Virginia Kimble; along with several nieces and nephews.
