WILLIAM E DOUGLAS

William E. Douglas, 82, of Belton, MO, passed away November 3, 2011 at St. Joseph Medical Center. Memorial services will be at 2:00PM Friday, November 11, 2011at Cullen Funeral Home. Bill was born December 25, 1928 in Topeka, KS. After growing up in Topeka he enlisted in the Navy in 1950. He married Mary Katherine Pieratt in 1954 and the couple moved to San Diego, CA where they started a family. The family moved back to Kansas (Baldwin City) in 1969. Bill worked at Bell Telephone Company for his entire career. After retirement, he and Kathy traveled the country in an RV for 6 years then lived in Maine and Cuba, MO, finally settling in Belton, MO. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathy, children Carol and Jimmy, and sister Wilma. He is survived by two daughters: Angie Raskin (Larry) Orangevale, CA; Kim Hutchins Grandview, MO; three sons: Steve Douglas (Karen) Oakfield, ME; Paul Douglas (Joanie) Overland Park, KS; John Douglas (Anu Singh) Laguna Nigel, CA; and eight grandchildren: Josh (Alison) and Stacey Raskin, Valarie McCarty, Emily and Abby Douglas, Deven, Nikiel, and Tarun Douglas, and two brothers: Robert and Ronald Douglas, both of Topeka, KS. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
