VIVIAN LEE MOORE

Vivian Lee Moore, 85, of Belton, MO, left this world for her heavenly home on May 8, 2017 with her children by her side in Nashville, TN, where she has resided since 2011. She was born October 29, 1931 in Kansas City, MO to Arden and Mary King. She married Wayne Dee Moore on March 23, 1951. They were married for 36 years until his death on June 18, 1987. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Arden "Sonny" King, whom she loved dearly.

Vivian is survived by her children, Diana Moore (Mike), Debbie Moore (Mitch), Carrie Moore-Reed (Randal) and Doug Moore (Sandy) as well as her treasured grandchildren, Lyles, Laken, Lexay and Landryn. Also surviving are her sisters, Hope Curvin (Willie) and Mary Hibdon, and her "brother", Jim Connole, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many others who loved her like family.

Vivian's absolute love for life was emphasized by her sweet smile that lit up a room. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was funny, witty, wise and giving, and comforting to everyone who crossed her path. She was our guiding light. She held her family in the highest regard and spent precious time with her loved ones doing the things she loved to do, including traveling, shopping, and tossing back a cold one with family and friends.

Vivian worked the night shift at Avon for several years and later became a rural mail carrier for the Belton Post Office. However, her main "occupation" and passion was being matriarch of the family who loved her more than anything in this world. She was a member of St. Sabina Catholic Church in Belton and instilled the love of God and Jesus in her family through her selfless love and compassion for all.

Lovingly known as "Mama Moore" and "Saint Vivian" to everyone who knew what a beautiful angel she was here on earth, she is now an angel in heaven walking with Jesus and the loved ones she missed so much who were called home before her.

Vivian did not want a sad funeral. Instead, there will be a private graveside service for family members at the Belton Cemetery, as well as a Celebration of Life later this year in Nashville, TN, as she requested. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN, which was one of her favorite charities.

One of Vivian's favorite songs, "Let There Be Peace on Earth"...
Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me;
Let there be peace on earth,
The peace that was meant to be.

With God as our Father
Brothers all are we,
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me,
Let this be the moment now;
With every step I take,
Let this be my solemn vow

To take each moment and live each moment
In peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
