VELMA M. PIERCE
Velma M. Pierce, age 91, of Kansas City, MO passed away May 7, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at the St. Luke's Hospice House. There will be private family services at a later date.
Velma was born August 17, 1925 in Bendavis, Missouri, the daughter of Orval Burch and Alta (Frances) Burch. Velma married the love of her life Avery Pierce. Together they were blessed with their daughter, Judy. Velma has her Master's Degree in Education. She was a 4th grade Teacher for many years.
Velma was preceded in death her parents; husband, Avery Pierce in 2006; and two sisters, Norma Hutsell and Wilma Kelly.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy K. Crissey and husband Michael; two brothers, Olen Burch and Vernon Burch (Fern); one grandson, Mark Perry (Janet); three grandchildren, Taylor, Devin and Katlyn Perry.
