VALETA JUNE ARMSTRONG

Valeta June Armstrong, age 83, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Cullen Funeral Home 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. June will then be laid to rest at Raymore Cemetery next to her husband of 58 years.

June was born in Westville, Oklahoma on March 31, 1940 to Calmeta O'Lee and Ora (West) Chadwell. Not long after graduating high school, June married Robert E. Armstrong and moved to the Kansas City area, where she remained for the rest of her life. She worked at Grandview City Hall for over 30 years in the community development department, from which she retired. June loved visiting with her family, gardening, and flowers. She also loved going to Lake Pomona in Kansas where for 30 years she spent time on her pontoon boat with her late husband, friends and family.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Calmeta and Ora Chadwell; husband Robert E. Armstrong; brother, Ronnie Chadwell; and sister Clorine Watson.

She is survived by her two sons, Randy L. Armstrong (Gwen) and Rob D. Armstrong (Kathy); sister, Carolyn Lacie (Rodney); four grandchildren, Kelsey Hall (Brance), Victoria Green (Adam), Samantha Armstrong, and Ivan Armstrong; six great grandchildren, William Hall, Lucas Hall, Jasen Hall, Jonathan Green, Kayleigh Green, and Colette Green with one great grandchild on the way. Also two nephews, Andy Watson and Jeff Phillips along with three nieces, Shelly Walker, Becky Goza, and Amy Watson.
