Twilla Henderson Winn
Twilla Henderson Winn, long-time resident of Belton, Missouri, died in her home July 13, 2014 of leukemia having survived 25 plus years of repeated chemotherapy. The family fondly considered Twilla their "Energizer Bunny" because of her enduring battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Mrs. Winn was born in Topeka Kansas on December 15, 1939. She was the youngest of 8 children born to Raymond F. Henderson and Ruby May Cook-Henderson, all of whom have preceded her in death except for a sister, Fern Lavonne Fascendini of Vancouver Washington.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, retired Air Force Captain, Larry Winn also of Belton and children Denise Winn Woolf of Belton, Debra Winn Ishum (Michael) of Belton, Natalie Gail Winn Birchfield of Charlottesville, VA, Brandon Winn (Brenna) of Merriam Kansas, and son-in-heart, Christian Ruoff of Hamburg, Germany.
Surviving Grandchildren: Michelle Wammack Kilker, Melissa Woolf Simmons (Max), Nicholas Woolf (Kelly), Evan Woolf and Erin Woolf, Sean Ishum (Rebecca), Nathan Ishum (Jennifer), Ruby Ishum Kelly (Todd), Lucy Birchfield, Lily Birchfield, Carolanne Birchfield, and Morgan Winn. Twilla has 6 great grandchildren, 4 of whom are quadruplets. She has numerous brothers and sisters in laws, nieces and nephews who survive and mourn the loss of their family member.
Twilla was a long time member and servant of First Baptist Church of Belton, Missouri. Services will be held Friday July 18 at 3:00pm Visitation and 4:00pm Memorial, at First Baptist Church 810 S. Cedar, Belton, MO 64012. A graveside burial will be held in Burlington, Kansas, Saturday July 19, 2:00pm at Graceland Cemetery. Donations in memory of Twilla Winn can be made to First Baptist Church of Belton, Missouri or St. Luke's Hospice.
