TOMMY DALE GUENTHER

Tommy Dale Guenther, age 87, of Lee's Summit, Missouri passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, at Research Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Abundant Life Church Main Building 304 SW Persels Rd, Lee's Summit, MO 64081. Visitation will be from 4:30-5:30 p.m. with the services to follow at 5:30 p.m.

Tommy was born in Yates Center, Kansas on September 14, 1938, the son of Fred A. Guenther and Sarah Alice Millson. After graduating high school, Tommy received his bachelor's degree at Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri. Tommy met the love of life, Elizabeth J. Johnson, and were later married on October 18, 1958. Together they were blessed with three children, Steven, Mark, and Julie. In life, Tommy has worked as an accountant for Western Electric for over 37 years. Tommy was a man of faith; he was a member of Abundant Life Church for 17 years. He was a deacon in the church. For many years he taught Sunday School for LSBT and Terrace Lake UMC; he also taught some adult classes. He truly loved his family and friends, spending all the time with them.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Sarah Guenther; grandson, Noah Coram; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Guenther; five brothers; and one sister.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth J. Guenther; two sons, Steven Guenther (Terisa), Mark Guenther (Shelly), and daughter, Julie Coram (Michael); seven grandchildren, Michael Guenter (Kinsey), Ryan Guenther (Rachel), Andrew Guenther, Trisha Brasington (Scott), Taylor Barrett (Jordan), Michael Nelson, and Luke Nelson; and eleven great grandchildren.
