THOMPSON FLOURNEY WILLIS III

Thompson Flourney Willis III, 88, passed February 8th, 2024, at his home in Cleveland, Missouri. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Friday, February 16th at 1:00 pm at Glenwild Cemetery, Cleveland, Missouri.

Tom was born July 23rd, 1935, in Jefferson City, Missouri to Thompson Flourney Willis II and Mary Erma (Coleman) Willis. He served in the Navy before going on to receive his Master's in Statistics from the University of Missouri. Tom was always looking for opportunities to learn and develop new skills and after retiring from IBM he and his wife, Penny, started The Berry Patch, a you-pick blueberry farm in 1975 in Cleveland, south of Kansas City.

Tom had many hobbies, but his greatest passion later in life was the Creation Science Association, of which he was a founding member. He spent years dedicating his time to research and speaking publicly to share biblical knowledge with others.

Tom is survived by his children David Willis, and wife Stephanie, Josh Willis and wife Liz, Grace Willis; and two children from a previous marriage, Thompson Flourney Willis IV and Cathleen Willis; and grandchildren Jack and Savannah Willis, and his brother Alex Willis and wife Linda.

He is predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Penny Beryl (Stephenson) Willis.
