THERESA E. "TERRY" GOERGEN

Theresa E. Goergen, age 88, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Coronation of Our Lady Parish, 13000 Bennington Ave., Grandview, Missouri 64030. A Rosary will be said at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Following Mass there will be luncheon followed by burial Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Raytown, Missouri.

Terry was born on September 13, 1931 on her grandfather's farm in Belgium, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Carl Edwin Krier and Cleopha Elizabeth (Pierre) Krier. Terry was one of four children including Ambrose, Jerome, and Alice. Shortly after graduating from high school Theresa was joined in marriage to Charles G. Goergen on July 21, 1951 at Holy Assumption Catholic Church in West Allis, Wisconsin.

Together they were blessed early on with three children, Lee and twins Dale and Dean.  Terry followed her husband's career to Lewisburg, Tennessee in 1958.  During her time in Tennessee Todd and Tracy were born.  The family moved briefly to Miami, Oklahoma in 1965 and then to Kansas City in 1966.  Terry attended Medical records school at Research Hospital in 1976.  becoming an Accredited Records Technician.

Back on the move again in 1976 to Pittsburgh, Pa then back to Kansas City in 1977 and then on to Oklahoma City in 1978.  After her husband Chuck passed away quite suddenly in 1982, she returned to Kansas City in 1984 to be closer to her children.  For many years, Terry worked in Medical records eventually retiring from St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri in 1997.

Terry was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 31 years, Charles "Chuck" George Goergen; parents, Carl and Cleopha Krier; son Dale P. Goergen; and sisters in law Marjorie Goergen (Ron) and Carol Krier (Jerry).

She is survived by four loving children, Lee Goergen (Sue), Dean Goergen (Denise Turner), Todd Goergen (Alice), and Tracy Wilson (Leslie); two brothers, Ambrose Krier (Audrey) and Jerome Krier; sister Alice LaChapelle (Al); brother in law Ron Goergen; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Goergen (Jaimee), Mindy Bridgewater (Carlton), Jason Goergen, Alex Goergen, Daniel Goergen, Kenneth Wilson (Courtney Church), and Camille Wilson; and two great grandchildren, Parker Goergen and Bastian Bridgewater.
