THELMA M. MORRIS

Thelma Morris, 93, of Belton, Missouri passed away August 31, 2017 at Foxwood Springs in Raymore, Missouri. Thelma was born on July 31, 1924 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She married Robert Morris, who preceded her in death, on Dec 21, 1946 in Sumter, South Carolina. Robert and Thelma relocated to several places while Robert was in the Air Force, including Texas, where she worked as a clerk typist for William Beaumont Hospital, Japan, Nebraska, Panama, and North Dakota until making their final stop in Belton, Missouri in May 1962 where Thelma stayed home with her children as a homemaker. Thelma was a companion, mother, grandmother and great grandmother during her life. She worked hard to better her family and home, and was a wonderful cook and seamstress. While often serious and opinionated, Thelma was a truly loving individual who spent much of her time caring for others.

She is survived by her children, Penny Bennett (Charles Bennett) and Robert Morris, Jr. (Cathy Morris), grandchildren Amy Logan (Stanley Logan), Zachary Morris (Kimberly Morris), Kaitlin Brendel (Daniel Brendel), and Jessica Regele (Jordan Regele), great-grandchildren Melissa, Scott, Ben, Sarah, Brinlee, Chloe, Theo, and Eden, and siblings Romaine, Charles, Dick, and Dorothy. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Morris, her parents, and 7 siblings.

Visitation will be held at Lord of Love Lutheran church September 5, 2017 12:00-1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service at the Belton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lord of Love Lutheran Church 8306 E. 171st St, Belton, MO 64012.
