Suzanne C. Perkins, age 85, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2025 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1001 E. 52nd. St. Kansas City, Missouri 64110. Inurnment will follow Mass at Forrest Hill Cemetery.
Suzanne was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 11, 1939 to Robert and Mary Catherine Perkins. After attending St. Francis Xavier grade school, she graduated from Bishop Hogan High school. After a brief employment with Colgate Company in Kansas City, Suzy applied and was accepted to American Airlines flight attendant training in Dallas, Texas, where she graduated in 1962.
During her time with American Airlines, she was selected to escort military personnel on their R&R's during the Vietnam ERA. Several years later after the Vietnam ERA the flight attendants were invited and honored at a reunion of the Vietnam veterans. During her time with American Airlines she flew both statewide and based in Chicago, San Francisco and lastly in Kansas City, Missouri and flew internationally.
With a love of art inherited from her Aunt Cecelia, Suzy started painting in her off time which developed into a true artist. She took many trips taking photographs and turning them into her paintings. Her most memorable trip was to Giverny France where she had the opportunity to paint in Monet's Gardens. She was a member of the First Art Gallery of Olathe (Kansas) and participated in many art shows.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Catherine; sister, Patricia Aldridge; nephew, Duane Aldridge; niece, Sarah Glaviano; aunt Cecelia Ryan; and brother in law, Dave Cobb.
She is survived by her sister, Jean Cobb; nieces and nephew, Debbie Linton (Dave), Barbie Glaviano, David Aldridge, Valerie Rinehart (John), Jenny Roetman (Paul), and Shannon Grabos (Joe); as well as many great nieces and nephews.
