SUSAN LAGER

Susan Lager, age 79, of Belton, Missouri passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loving family on March 17, 2025.

Mass of Christian Burial service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at St. Sabina Catholic Church 700 Trevis Ave., Belton, Missouri 64012. Rosary will be prayed at 9:45 a.m. followed by a visitation from 10-11:00 a.m. Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Belton Cemetery, Belton, Missouri.

Susan was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 2, 1946, the daughter of Richard E. George and Virginia Elaine Lawrence. After graduating from Belton High School, Susan met the love of her life, Joe Lager and were later married. Together they were blessed with four children, Chris, Jennifer, Sarah, and Nick. In life, Susan loved being a mother and grandmother. She was very involved in her kids' and grandkids' activities. She loved bowling, enjoyed reading, and loved to eat anything chocolate. Susan was a member of the St. Sabina Catholic Church.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Richard E. and Elaine George.

She is survived by her loving husband Joe Lager; her four children, Chris Lager (Laura), Jennifer Vargo (David), Sarah Wheeler (Tracy), and Nick Lager; her two brothers, Richard L. George (Norma) and Kibbey George (Mary); eight grandchildren, Joshua Lager (Judith), Justin Lager, Mollie Lager, Dr. Emily Lager, Hannah Lager, Katie Vargo, Haley Wheeler, and Jake Lager.
