STEPHEN GENE PETERSON

Stephen Gene Peterson, age 59, of Belton, Missouri passed away September 17, 2025.

Stephen, better known as Steve or Stevie, was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 23, 1966, the son of Stephen & Phyllis Peterson.  Steve was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Douglas Peterson. He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Peterson; sister, Sara Haecker (Benji); brother, William Peterson; and 2 wonderful dogs, Kacie and Buddy.

Steve was known for his knowledge of electronics, automobiles and technology. He worked in many professional fields throughout his 59 years, but his favorite seemed to be in communications, when he was installing and working on cell towers. There, he was able to take pictures from hundreds of feet in the air and travel to many places. At the time, Chester, his loyal golden retriever, stayed in hotels with him and traveled in his passenger seat every day. Always the dog lover, he had many throughout his life that traveled with him and gave him endless affection.  Steve loved his dogs, more than anything.

Steve resided in many locations, but his favorite was always Belton. He loved being in the community visiting with his and his Dads buddies. He would frequently join groups of men at local diners. Steve loved keeping up with everyone around town and being a helping hand when they needed it. You would always see his happy smile and unforgettable laugh.

A celebration of life for Steve will be held October 4th, 2025, from 2pm - 5pm, at Meet Me On Main event space, 515 Main St, Belton, MO 64012.
