Obituary

STANLEY JOE HARMS

Stanley Joe Harms, age 63, of Belton, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 310 Johnston Pkwy. Raymore, Missouri 64083. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of Stanley’s life at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be provided at the church following services.

Stanley was born in Sedalia, Missouri on February 5, 1963, to Harold Harms and Lavera (Balke) Harms. Stanley graduated from Cole Camp High School and continued his education, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from UCM, Warrensburg, MO. On November 16, 1991, Stanley married his wife, Jill, at the United Lutheran Church in Cole Camp, Missouri. Their union was blessed with a son, Broderic. In life, Stanley was a huge sports fan, particularly of college basketball. He enjoyed teaching youth soccer and basketball, going to outdoor music concerts, traveling, trying out new restaurants and spending time with his family. Stanley led a very active lifestyle, frequently riding trails on his bike with Jill. He worked as Director of Operations for Customer Foods, Inc. and was employed there for 27 years! He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Raymore, MO where he loved serving as a door greeter with his wife.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lavera Harms; sister-in-law, Lora Harms; and two brothers-in-law, Phil Whitworth and Dennis Laufenberg.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 34 years, Jill Harms; son, Broderic Harms; two sisters, Debbie Harms and Vickie Miller (Jim); three brothers, Randy Harms, Rusty Harms, and Michael Harms; and numerous nieces and nephews.
