Peculiar/formerly of Stanberry MO

Stan passed away at KU Med Ctr on April 2, 2014. His loving wife was by his side, and his family near by. He was born August 13, 1950 to Stanley D & Betty (Leisestie) Andrews in Austin TX. His father was a in the Lt Col in the Air Force, moving the family around the country, and preceded him in death October of 2012. His mother, always the loving homemaker, survives him at her home in Colorado Springs CO .

Stan was a graduate of University of Evansville IN, after which he moved to Kansas City Mo and graduated from University of MO Dental School in May of 1977. He started practicing dentistry in Bethany Mo.

In 1978 he moved to Stanberry Mo to open his own practice. He and his wife worked together to build a successful and very much needed Dental office for the N W MO Community. Most folks around the area knew Stan for his clever quotes on the sign in front of his office. No matter a patient or not, he brought a smile to many faces with his wittiness!

He loved living his life to the fullest in his own unique way. Highlights were camping with his family and friends, hunting with his sons and friends. Riding his 1976 Goldwing motorcycle was a great stress release for him. In later years, he became a certified scuba diver. He loved to Sky Dive. Piloting his own plane was a favorite, allowing him to visit family and friends in a short amount of time. Sunday mornings he could be found flying a few hours landing for breakfast and a good visit with other pilots before flying back home.

After having sold the home and practice in Stanberry, he & his wife bought a lake home at Peculiar MO. This lake house became his latest playground.

June 24, 1972 he married his best friend Donna Jean Brashears, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by his sons: Chad (Jamie) Andrews of Archie MO; Adam (Sierra) Andrews of Peculiar; 8 grandchildren; 2 sisters of CO; several nieces and nephew; and many, many friends.

There will be a Celebration of His Life Ceremony on April 13, 2014 2-5pm at the lake house. All family and friends please join us with "Stan Stories" in hand.

The family is requesting no flowers; memorials may be made in his honor to: Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation or Diabetes Foundation.
