SHIRLEY ANN SULLIVAN
Shirley A. Sullivan, age 89, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on October 25, 2018 at Carnegie Village.
A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. with a Visitation to follow St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Tervis Ave., Belton, Missouri 64012 on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. following Visitation. An Inurnment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery following service.
Shirley was born on November 7, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the daughter of Frances X. Hohenschild and Mable Ann Norris.
On September 2, 1950 Shirley entered into marriage with Robert N. Sullivan, Jr. Together they were blessed with seven children; Mary, Patricia, James, Marjorie, Teresa, Cecelia, and Kathleen.
Shirley attended Ursaline Academy, Paola, KS and studied nursing at St. Mary Collage, Xavier, KS. She was employed by South Western Bell Phone Company and later by Phoenix Aerospace.
Shirley was known for her love of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Over the years she enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts and most of all reading her many, many books.
Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert N. Sullivan, Jr.; parents, Frances and Mable Hohenschild; and daughter-in-law Marsha Sullivan.
She is survived by her son James Sullivan; six daughters Mary Schmidt (Glen), Patricia Fontenot (Warren), Marjorie Winner (Dick), Terri Glano (Jim), Cecelia Sullivan, and Kathleen Newman (Troy); twenty-two grandchildren, and thirty great grandchildren.
