Shelba Jean Johnson
May 1, 1937 - June 23, 2025

Shelba Jean Johnson, age 88, passed away peacefully at the Crown Rehab and Healthcare Center on June 23, 2025.

Shelba was born May 1, 1937 in Independence Missouri. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold & Nina Sartain, her brother Jack Sartain, and her beloved youngest daughter, Mardel January. She is survived by her two children Rhonda Volz (Ron) and Steve Keith (Cindy), seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to raising a family, Shelba also worked for years at General Motors on the assembly line. For a good part of her life, Shelba lived with chronic, debilitating pain. She was also afflicted with macular degeneration, which left her blind and unable to live independently. Thankfully, she was able to live with loved ones and family members. In spite of all that, she never complained about her blindness. Shelba loved going to the lake and being around family. She also enjoyed Chinese food, playing cards games, studying the bible, and listening to E-books. She was a very generous soul and would give you the shirt off her back.

Visitation will be on July 8th at 11:00, with the memorial service starting at 11:30 at the Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W Foxwood Drive, Raymore, Missouri.
