RUTH H. NELSON

Ruth H. Nelson, age 101, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Foxwood Springs Living Center.

At this time a celebration of Ruth's life will be held on a later date.

Ruth was born in Bethel, Minnesota on May 21, 1918 to Stiner Nelson and Helga O. Nelson. After graduating high school Ruth continued her education and for many years worked for the United States Government performing clerical work for the United States Navy as well as the Department of Agriculture. In 1936 Ruth was joined in marriage with her late husband James Nelson. Together they were blessed with four children, Jim, Karen, Ruth, and Jeff. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, loved to golf, travel, and during the winter months she spent time with James in Florida. Ruth was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Stiner and Helga Nelson; two sons in laws, Allen Woodworth and Clay Moore; daughter in law, Sharry Nelson; one brother; and three sisters.

She is survived by her four loving children, Jim Nelson, Jeff Jeffries (Jolene), Karen Woodworth, and Ruth Ann Moore; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren.
