Roger M. Taegel, age 70, passed away March 12, 2026.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at the New Journey at Gregory Hills Church, 7020 James A Reed Rd. Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service with rendering of military honors will be held at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, 5201 S Southwood Rd, Springfield, MO 65804 on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
Roger was a dedicated husband and truly loved family. At family gatherings he was the life of the party! He loved time spent with his nieces and nephews and loved to have fun.
Roger loved his 1966 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia, he enjoyed showing it at car shows and won several awards.
Roger was inducted into the Unites States Marine Corps on December 6, 1974. Roger served his first enlistment from 1974 to 1977 rising to the rank of Lance Corporal. He served in the Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal until his honorable discharge on January 21, 982. Roger was very proud of his service in the Marines.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Josephine Taegel and his brother Tom Taegel.
He leaves behind his wife Linda (Gragg) Taegel of 35 years. His two sisters, Anita Hedges of Lone Jack, MO and Martha Allen of Minnesota. His four brothers, Richard Taegel of Liberty, Missouri, Harold Taegel of Charolotte, North Carolina, Larry Taegel of Kanas City, Missouri, and David Taegel of Belton, Missouri. And a sister in law Debbie Taegel of Phoenix, Arizona.
Roger, you stand relieved. We have the watch.
