Obituary

ROBERT "BOB" S. FREEMAN

Robert "Bob" S. Freeman, 63, of Belton, MO passed away September 14, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospice House with his loving family by his side. Memorial service will be 2 PM Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Cullen Funeral Home with visitation 12-2 PM. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Hospice House 3516 Summit St, Kansas City, MO 64111. Bob was born October 26, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Ray and Irma (Stafford) Freeman. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Maggi, of 40 years; four children, Katy Gitto (Patrick), Andy Freeman, Brian Freeman, and Mo Norquist (Chris); three brothers, Richard Freeman (Marge), Mark Freeman (Debby) and Pat Nixon; seven grandchildren, Aidan, Jack, Abby, Maddy, Sam, Pete and Maisie.

Bob was a 1969 graduate of De La Salle High School, and a 1974 graduate of University of Missouri-Kansas City. Bob loved to play ice hockey, and he was one of only 6 zamboni drivers in the Kansas City area. He was also the last person to skate on the ice rink at the American Royal arena. Bob was an Eagle Scout and Warrior in the tribe Micosay. He had so many personal and professional accomplishments in life, but being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend is what makes his family most proud. Bob loved KU basketball, golfing, fishing in Canada with his family, grilling amazing ribs and steaks, making breakfast for his family, and playing with his 7 grandchildren who were the absolute apple of his eye. He told the best jokes ever, and never messed up a punchline. He was the kindest man to everyone. There are no words to say how much we will miss him or how very much we love him. To know Bob was to love him, and we are so grateful for every day we spent with him. We will love you always and forever.
