RICHARD LEE RANDOL

Richard Lee Randol, 92, of Raymore, MO passed away May 30, 2017, at Foxwood Springs Living Center. Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, June 5, with Visitation from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore. A private family burial will take place at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, at Mt. Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the "Fellowship of John", PO Box 701, Raymore, MO, 64083.

Richard was born April 26, 1925, in Kansas City, MO to the late Clarence and Gladys (Winkle) Randol. Richard served his country during World War II as a Flight Officer in the Army Air Corps. On April 20, 1952, Richard married the love of his life, Ruby Ruth Sunderwirth who preceded him in death on February 6, 2005. Richard attended the University of MO and worked in Insurance sales for 40 years, co-founded an Independent Agency (Womack-Randol), retiring from Cretcher-Lynch. The Boy Scouts held a lasting influence in Richard's life. As a child he was a member of the Boy Scouts. After becoming a father, he served his community as a leader of the Scouts from 1966-1983, and as Scout Master for Troop #110 for 10 years.

Richard and Ruby were founding members of Longview United Methodist Church in Kansas City, MO. Together they were 30 year members of the Greater Kansas City Chapter of "People To People" where Richard served as President from 1985-1987. He was a board member of Longview YMCA, and in his later years could be found volunteering at the "Bargain Barn" in Foxwood Springs. Richard was a devoted husband of 52 years, a father and grandfather. He enjoyed an active life and will be missed by all who knew him.


He is survived by his three children, Douglas R. Randol; Ruth A. Hassell and husband Tim; Timothy L. Randol and wife Laura; three grandchildren; Shane D. Randol; Myles A. Hassell; Emily E. Randol.
