Veteran and business broker Richard Wayne Moorhead's love of life didn't come to an end with his death. Richard passed away on January 27th 2025 at the age of 92, surrounded by loved ones.
Richard served in the United States Air Force as a jet pilot in the 604th Special Operations Squadron, 3rd Tactical Fighter Wing from 1953 to 1973. His service allowed him to travel the world, sending him to Japan, Vietnam, and several states in America.
During his time in the armed forces, Richard attended Oklahoma State University where he received a Bachelor's of Science. His passion for learning didn't end there as he went on to the University of Southern California where he received a Masters of Aerospace Operations Management, Industrial Engineering and Management.
Richard continued to expand his knowledge through industry organizations as a member of the Cass County Sheriffs Citizens Auxiliary, the Scottish Rite, and the Shriners International. He also supported others in their educational endeavors as a certified proctor for the National Center for Competency Testing and Wonderlic and taught collegiate business and management for over 25 years.
Aside from all of Richard's personal accomplishments, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and certified bbq judge.
Richard is preceded by his sons Mark and Derek, and his wife Norine. He is survived by his sister Janice, and his grandchildren Rebecca and Mark.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. later that day at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
