RICHARD L. HARMON
(1930-2018)

Richard L. Harmon, 87, of Raymore, Missouri passed peacefully from this life on January 18, 2018, at Tomball Regional Hospital in Tomball, Texas. Richard was born to R.W. and Grace Harmon on December 5th, 1930, in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Ruskin High School in 1948. He was happily married for 61 years to the love of his life Jo Ann (Sanders) Harmon until she passed in 2011. This lasting marriage was richly blessed with two sons, Stan and Brad.

Richard was born and raised in the greater Kansas City Metro area where he touched many lives. He was a lifelong member of the Hickman Mills church of Christ where he served as an elder for several years. Richard was also a successful businessman and community leader.

Richard fulfilled several roles in life including a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; R.W. and Grace Harmon; his wife, JoAnn (Sanders) Harmon; and son, Stan Harmon. He is survived by his son, Brad Harmon (Cindy) Harmon; 5 grandchildren, Aaron (Jen) Harmon, Andy (Kyli) Harmon, Leah Eve, Rachel (Trent) Ropp and Jacy Harmon; 10 great-grandchildren, Tyler Harmon, Lexi Harmon, Sarah Harmon, Carson Eve, Austin Harmon, Weston Ropp, Lainey Eve, Drew Eve, Naomi Ropp and Cora Ropp; and brother, Robert E. Harmon.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hickman Mills Church of Christ with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. The graveside service will be at Green Lawn Cemetery at 8251 Hillcrest Kansas City, MO. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Hickman Mills church of Christ, 11610 S. 71 Hwy Kansas City, MO 64134.
