Richard Lee Blackley, 79, of Independence, Missouri passed away December 26, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House. Graveside service 3 PM Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. He was born November 11, 1933 in Ralston, Iowa. He was a member of the American Legion and a Korean Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife Mary Blackley, Independence, MO; son Stan Blackley and wife Teresa; Belton, MO; daughter Nancy Lauber and husband Tom, Independence, MO; brother, Romayne Blackley, Glidden, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Emily, Stuart, Henry and four great grandchildren, Micah, Memphis, Jude and Elijah. He was cremated and a Military Graveside service will be held at a future date. Donations accepted for KC Hospice House. A memorial service will be held in Glidden, Iowa in the spring. Grandpa, thank you for always being there! We miss and love you!
