REBECCA MENTEER
Rebecca Menteer, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Lee's Summit, Missouri on December 11, 2024. Born on December 8, 1949 in West Plains, Missouri to Calvin Dale Smith and Nova Marie Smith, Rebecca lived a life filled with love for her family and an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.
Preceded in death by her cherished husband Harold Menteer and her devoted parents Calvin and Nova Smith, Rebecca leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will forever resonate within the hearts of those who knew her. She is survived by her loving brother Ronnie Smith; daughters Rachel Pike (Todd) and Renee Wilking (Brian); grandchildren Kailey Menteer, Jacob Pike, Noah Pike, Sophia Wilking; as well as great-granddaughter Delia Bradley.
A retired Language Arts Para educator with a passion for nurturing young minds through literature and language arts education—Rebecca was not only dedicated to teaching but also deeply committed to uplifting everyone around her. Her warmth radiated from every interaction she had; she was truly a light to all who crossed her path.
Family meant everything to Rebecca. She treasured the time spent traveling with Ronnie or embarking on memorable girls' trips with Rachel and Renee, and every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren —a testament to the strong bonds they shared. Whether it was exploring new places or simply enjoying each other's company at home during holidays or special occasions—the laughter they created together will echo fondly through generations.
An ardent student of scripture throughout her life—Rebecca's faith guided every aspect of who she was. Her devotion inspired many others as she touched countless hearts through acts of service rooted firmly in love for God.
In honor of Rebecca's remarkable spirit—a Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on December 30th at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083, where friends are invited to gather together sharing stories that celebrate this extraordinary woman's journey here on Earth. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 7:30 p.m.
Though we mourn the loss of such an incredible soul—we find solace knowing that Rebecca has returned home into the arms of our Lord while leaving behind memories filled with joy—and lessons learned about compassion which shall continue inspiring us all until we meet again.
