RAYMOND JOHN STAWINSKI

Raymond John Stawinski, 80, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on March 25, 2026.

Born on December 2, 1945, in Exeter, England, Raymond immigrated to America on a ship with his family when he was just two months old.

He grew up in Breckenridge, Pennsylvania. He later made his home in the Kansas City/Raymore area, where he dedicated his life to the game of golf as a respected PGA RM Professional in the Kansas City/Midwest section. He worked as assistant golf coach for the Metropolitan community college Kansas City athletics, and beloved golf instructor for children everywhere, including the U.S. Kids Association encouraging a lifelong love for the game of golf, and generously gave back through the KC PGA HOPE program, where he taught golf to veterans.

Ray will be remembered for his love of golf, sharing his passion for golf with others, his generous spirit in mentoring players of all ages.

But most of all he loved teaching children and he brought enthusiasm and wisdom to every fairway and every interaction.

Father Jeff Stephan of St. Sabina Catholic Church administered Last Rites and Apostolic Blessing.

Raymond is survived by his mother, Irene Lott of Pennsylvania, who will celebrate her 100th birthday on April 15; his daughter, Michelle Stawinski Ivy and husband Robert Ivy of Galveston, Texas, his cherished grandchildren Courtlyn and Connor Ivy, great granddaughter Summer Ivy and his sister Teresa Dunlap of Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Stawinski, and his brother, Joseph F. Stawinski.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to PGA HOPE organization for veterans.
