RAYMOND EARL JANZ
Raymond "Ray" Earl Janz, age 74, of Raymore, MO (formally of Shawnee KS), passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Ray passed away after a short but courageous battle against that 6 letter word: CANCER.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. Raymond was born on Saturday, May 24, 1941, in Chicago, IL. He was the only son of Clarence William Henry Janz and Rola Ruth (Meyer) Janz.
After Raymond graduated from Evergreen Park High School Class of 1959, he attended St. Joseph Jr. College 59-61, Platte College 61-62. He received his degree in business at the Warton School of Business.
On July 16, 1961, Ray married the love of his life, Judith Ann (Schrey) Janz, and to this union they were blessed with two daughters, Annette and Lisa.
Ray was skilled in everything he put his mind to; he was a caddie at Evergreen Park Country Club and Ridge Country Club; busboy at Martinique Restaurant; Jewel Tea; and driver for H.O. Siden Fadden Funeral Home. Associations: Outstanding Young Men of America Recipient; Assistant Director of Boys Baseball; VP-Deer Park Home Owners Association; State VP, MO Jr. Chamber of Commerce; East Hills Lions Club; St. Joe Jr. Chamber of Commerce Key Man of the Quarter; Gene Waldron Memorial Award; he was a member of the "Kansas City Media Legends Group"; and OOIDA-Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association; he was also Volunteer for Basenji Rescue and Transport (BRAT).
Ray has worked for Pepsi-Cola and Swift & Co. He was in sales at WHB Radio, KMBC-TV, WBEE, KKJO, KEWI, WKBD-TV, KSAT-TV, WJAR-TV, and KIII-TV. He was also the owner of Janz Mack Advertising, Janz & Associates, and Muscle Cars Inc.
Ray's loves included his dear family, his animals (especially his riding buddy Rocky), RV-ing, racing and classic cars.
Raymond Earl Janz was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Rola Ruth Janz.
He is survived by his wife of over 54 years marriage, Judy A. Janz; his loving daughters, Annette Walston (Chuck) of Basehor, KS, and Lisa Taylor (Paul) of Shawnee, KS; his seven grandchildren, Ethan Walston, Justin Walston, Chase Toalson, Abby Toalson, Sarah Howland (Brandon), McKenzie Taylor, and Caylee Taylor.
