RAYMOND (RAY) BRANNON, LT.COL USAF, RETIRED

Raymond (Ray) Brannon, Lt. Col USAF, Retired, 96, of Belton, MO. On January 20, 2016 GOD reached down and took Ray by the hand and took him from this world to be with HIM in heaven. Ray was born on the 9th day of July, 1919, to William and Lena (Wesche) Brannon in Memphis, Tennessee. Ray was preceded in death by his parents William and Lena; brother, Ernest; his wife, Inez; and son, Gary. He is survived by his son, Dwight, daughter-in-law, Jeanette; grandson, Keshava; and his "best friend", Cheryl. After college, Ray entered the Army Air Corps on April 2, 1942. He was commissioned in the Regular Army and later the USAF and served on active duty, as a pilot during WWII, Korea and Vietnam, from April 1942 until retired on August 1, 1971. Ray then worked for the State of Missouri as a Probation and Parole Officer until retired in 1988. A memorial service 11 AM Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, MO and private burial on post at Ft. Leavenworth, KS.
