PHYLLIS A. MILLER
Phyllis A. Miller, age 87, of Belton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 surrounded by her loving family members.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2020 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery @ Higginsville, 20109 Bus, MO-13, Higginsville, Missouri 64037.
Phyllis was born in Dover, New Jersey on August 6, 1933 to Martin Floyd Shrope and Anne (Lynch) Shrope. After graduating high school Phyllis completed two years of college and shortly after was joined in marriage with her late husband, Nelson Otto Miller on June 25, 1955. Together they were blessed with four sons, Stephen, Greg, David, and Phillip. When the boys were young, she would hold ceramics classes in the home. For twenty-two years, Phyllis was the Activity Director for the University Tower in Kansas City, Missouri. A woman of faith, Phyllis was a member of the Blue Ridge Methodist Church in Raytown, Missouri for many years. She also was a member of the Raytown Historical Society as well as a member of the Rice-Tremonti Home.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty years, Nelson Otto Miller; parents, Martin and Anne Shrope; and sister, Susan Shrope.
She leaves behind her four loving sons, Steve Miller (Andrea), Greg Miller (Lisa), David Miller (Ruth), and Phillip Miller; brother, William Shrope; three grandchildren, Ashley Wisdom (Jon), Grace Miller, and August Miller; and two great grandchildren, Keagan and Meadow Wisdom.
