PATRICIA E. BAIER

Patricia E. Baier, age 61, of Peculiar, MO passed away May 5, 2017 surrounded by loving family at Research Medical Center. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Cullen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Cullen Funeral Home with burial in Peculiar Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 6800 93rd St., Overland Park, KS 66212.

Patricia was born June 22, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of William Mizell and Charlotte Wanda Attebury. On July 24, 1971 she married the love of her life Wayne Baier. Together they had two wonderful children, Ben and Jenny.

Known as "Mama Pat" or "Momma Bear" by her many friends, or simply as "Mom" or "Mema" to her children and grandchildren, her contagious laughter and "sparkling" personality would light up any room she was in.

In addition to the countless hours she spent working alongside her husband at Baier's Den Kennels, she spent the last 19 years as an associate at Wal-Mart in Harrisonville, MO. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas with her girlfriends and spending time with family and friends at cookouts during the summer and fall. Through 45 years of marriage, she was still very much in love with the love of her life Wayne, and was extremely proud of her two kids, Ben and Jenny, and both their families.

She always said that her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother and she was never shy about expressing her love for her three grandchildren. One of her favorite things to tell family was that she "loved them to the moon and back". Without question, family and friends felt the same way about her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Wanda and Harold Huge, and William Mizell; two brothers, Mike and Charles Mizell.
She is survived by her loving husband Wayne of 45 years; son, Ben Baier and wife Suzanne; daughter, Jenny Tryan and husband Mike; sister, Kathy Charles (David); brother, John Huge (Debbie); sister in-law, Connie Mizell; grandchildren, Brett and Bailey Baier, and Emilie Tryan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
