NORMAN RICHARD KREBILL

Norman R. Krebill, age 74, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018. While on his lifetime fight against polio, Norman had spinal surgery August 28 th . During his physical therapy routine, he suffered a seizure at the Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas.

A Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri with a Celebration of Life Service to follow.

Norman was born to Orville and Louise Krebill on July 18, 1944 in Greeley, Colorado. As polio was sweeping the country in the late 1940's, Norman was stricken with the disease. He spent several months at the Denver Children's Hospital, returning home in 1950 as a poster child for the county. While he could not participate in vigorous sports during his youth, he was part of archery, rifle, scouting and judo clubs.

By 1962, he was studying at Colorado State University where he met his future wife, Donna Harmon of Wray, Colorado. They married on September 10, 1967 and made their home in Kansas City, Missouri where Norman spent his entire engineering career employed by Honeywell (formerly known as Bendix and Allied Signal). One son, Michael Krebill, was born to this union.

Norman is preceded in death by his parents Orville and Louise Krebill, and brother Robert Daniel Krebill.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna Krebill. Also surviving Norman is his son, Michael Krebill, daughter-in-law, Alicia Krebill, and grandchildren Mackenzie and Devin Krebill, sister-in-law, Peggy Fuge (John Fuge), and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

As a child fighting the Polio Disease, the March of Dimes helped Norman and his parents. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in his name may be made to his granddaughter's sorority, (SigmaSigmaSigma Sorority, ETA CHI Chapter at University of Missouri, 507 Rollins St. Columbia, Missouri 65201) whose philanthropic initiative is the March of Dimes.

Norman's affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America began as a scout in the 1950's, and continued as leader during his son's youth. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in his name may be made to the Lee's Summit Boy Scout Troup #195 (Grace United Methodist 2400 US 50 Hwy. Lee's Summit, Missouri 64063) where his grandson is a scout.
