NORMA LEE NEELY SPRIGGS

Norma Lee Neely Spriggs was born December 18, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Roy Edward Neely and Selma Ann Snow Neely. She died November 5, 2011, in Peculiar, MO. She was a loving and supportive mother to her children; a forever devoted wife to her husband; and a treasured grandmother, aunt, and friend to those who had the fortune of meeting her.

Norma (Mom) found the greatest fulfillment in homemaking. She enjoyed cooking, traveling over the road with her husband Don, and spending time with family. She was a wealth of knowledge, had a great sense of humor, enjoyed laughter, and always had a good story to tell. Her life experiences often supported her ability to provide good sound advice at a moment's notice. She served as a vital center point to our families' lives keeping us somehow connected in our demanding lifestyles. She had a kind heart, a loving soul, and was loved by all. Norma (Mom) had expressed that she had had a long and fulfilling life. She wished for all those who loved her, not be mournful but to rather be joyful and that she would also be happy in this journey. Her wish reminds me of a quote, "We never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in our actions, in our thoughts and in the decisions we make. Their love leaves a permanent imprint in our memories. We should be joyful and find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love". Our hearts will forever long for her spirit and forever appreciate having shared her love.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald Spriggs of 46 years; sister, Betty Louise Flood; and by grandson, Kyle P. Hennier.
