NORMA JEAN MARTIN

Norma Jean Martin (Waldron), 85, of Peculiar, MO departed this life on Saturday, February 27th, 2021 in Kansas City, MO. Born on September 11th,1935, daughter of Marion Juanita (Piehler) of Kansas City, MO and Norman John Waldron of Kansas City, MO. Norma graduated from Lillis High School and was married to Ronald (Ron) Eugene Martin in May 1954. They shared 51 incredible years together, including raising three children, until his passing in February of 2006. Although heartbroken, she found love again and married Tyron (Terry) Emerick on April 17th, 2010.

In her early life Norma worked at the General Services Administration where she worked as a Procurement Agent. She retired early and enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother and home-maker. She was a passionate cook and delighted in feeding others and sharing countless recipes.
Norma was also an incredibly talented artist. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, crafts, crocheting and knitting. Her work received praise and recognition, notably winning the Tri-County competition for her watercolor landscape and receiving ribbons at the HFAA Art Show for multiple submissions. She was a spit-fire and known for her ornery side, laughing and teasing anyone she met. Most of all, Norma loved her family and spending time particularly at the family lake house.

Norma is survived by her second husband: Tyron (Terry) Emerick (and his family), her three children: Michael Martin, Gary (Cindy) Martin, Daniel (Karen) Martin. Eight grandchildren: Sara (Jason) Brown, Tonya (David) Williams, Amy Martin, Todd (Shannon) Martin, Adam Martin, Rebecca (Joshua) Richcreek, Kyle (Skylar) Martin, Joshua Martin. Her twelve great-grandchildren: Abby, Luke Brown, Matt, Mya Williams, Addyson, Sophia Martin, Aubrey, Emmaline, Rhett Richcreek, Liam, Aiden, Cohen Martin.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Ronald Eugene Martin, as well as her daughter in law: Debra Kay Martin.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 9th at 10am at St. Paul's United Methodist Church (1111 W Foxwood Dr) Raymore, Missouri, along with a funeral service at 11am. The burial procession will follow at Mount Olivet (7601 Blue Ridge Blvd.) Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of donations the family requests memorials be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at Pulmonaryfibrosis.org/
