NICK C. BOYD

Nick C. Boyd passed peacefully at age 70 on Tuesday October 20, 2020 after a battle with melanoma cancer.

Nick was born to Leroy and Geneva Boyd in St. Louis, MO on March 3, 1950. They have both proceeded him in death. He graduated McCluer High School class of 1969 where his football team won the first official Missouri state championship in the same year. Nick graduated from Central Missouri State University after earning a BSA in Education while playing football and rugby.

Nick married Vicki Lynn Dozier in 1981. They began a family in St. Louis, MO and relocated to Kansas City, MO in 1991. Nick is survived by his wife Vicki Dozier Boyd, daughter Katherine (Ellie) Boyd, sons Nicolas (Cecily Oliver-Boyd), Daniel (Nicolette Bultez-Boyd) and grandchildren Isaac, Benson, Naomi and Landry. He is also survived by siblings, nephews, nieces and cousins.

During this passed half decade, his greatest joy was being PaPa to his 4 grandchildren. Nick retired from teaching in the Fort Osage School District. He also was a 21-year employee with the Kanas City Royals.

Nick's quick smile is a dominant feature in our memories. He was a loving husband, proud father and joyous grandfather. He was an engaging storyteller, inspiring coach and trusted mentor that influenced many lives.
