NAOMI C. SMITH

Naomi C. Smith, age 96, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

Naomi was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 13, 1925 to Morris Stout and Mary (Fetter) Stout. Naomi briefly continued her education after high school and then began work as a secretary. She worked many years at the Raytown South High School. A woman of Baptist faith, Naomi was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raytown for 86 years.

Naomi was preceded in death by her loving husband of over seventy-two years, James W. Smith; and her parents, Morris and Mary Stout; two sisters, Velta Wieters and Nell Bradshaw.

She is survived by her son, Ross M. Smith (Michell); two daughters, Janice K. Smith and Jill K. Gonzalez (Tom); sister, Linda Knox; five grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Nyp (Dr. Michael Nyp), Jessica Geran (Chasey), Davida Gonzalez (Michael), Rachel Bright (Chase), and Lindsey Jenkins (Dustin); and six great grandchildren, Abigail, Matthew, Allison, Sedona Renee, Felicity, and Brayden; and several nieces and nephews.
