NANCY J. WELLINGTON
Nancy J. Wellington, age 86, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away April 2, 2017, at John Knox Village Care Center. Private family services will take place at a later date.

Nancy was born July 4, 1930 in Salina, Kansas. She was the daughter of Harold and Elsie (Graff) Lamme. In 1951, Nancy graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor's degree of Science in Nursing. On March 23, 1959 Nancy married the love of her life, John Richard Wellington and together they shared the blessing of three children, Leslie, Dix, and Nancy.
Nancy lovingly supported her family as a housewife and a registered nurse. For 10 years she cared for the residents of Foxwood Springs Living Center in Raymore, Missouri. Her love for others extended to her service as a member of the PEO Sisterhood (Missouri Chapter), an international organization that provides educational opportunities for female students. Nancy was a people person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed making memories of boating and fishing at the lake. As a KU Alumni, Nancy was a proud fan of Jayhawks basketball and football.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John Richard Wellington; her parents, Harold and Elsie Lamme; and sister, Joyce Sutherland.
She is survived by her children, Leslie Minjarez (Angel), Dix Wellington, Nancy Martin (Robert, Jr.); grandchildren, David, Danny, Johnny, Kevin, Jamie, Jordan, and Bailey; sister, Janice Lewis, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
