MITCHELL ADAM HORAN

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mitchell Horan, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Mitchell departed this world on June 19, 2026, at the age of 37. Born on August 17, 1988, in Kansas City, Mitchell was a beacon of light and joy whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mitchell's life was a tapestry woven with remarkable love and dedication. Though he faced life's challenges with resilience, he chose to earn his GED after attending Harrisonville High School, paving the way for a rewarding career as a cement mason. For over 15 years, Mitchell honed his craft at Rayview Construction and with the Operative Plasterers' & Cement Masons' Local Union 518, where his skill and dedication were evident in every project he undertook.

In Leawood, Kansas, on August 15, 2020, Mitchell married the love of his life, Jennifer Keil. Their union was celebrated in the presence of family and friends, marking the beginning of a journey filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together for 16 wonderful years, they were overjoyed, blending his daughter from a previous relationship: Bella Horan and a stepson from his wife’s previous relationship: Korie Jaspersen. They were blessed with one child together: Montallana Horan.

For those who knew him, Mitchell's quick wit and warm smile were hallmarks of his personality. He possessed an incredible sense of humor and an unyielding generosity that touched the lives of many. Whether he was fishing, tinkering in his garage, or lending a helping hand, Mitchell was an avid handyman who could do anything, always ready to share his talents and time with those he loved.

Though he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and laughter, Mitchell is predeceased by grandfather's James Horan, James Murray, grandmother Helen Horan, uncle James Horan Jr. and sister-in-law, Gabrielle 'Gabi' Keil. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Horan, his two daughters: Bella Horan and Montallana Horan, his stepson: Korie Jaspersen, his brothers Matt Murray and Michael Horan, his parents, John Horan and Mary Horan and grandmother MaryJane Murray. His mother in law Lana Keil, father in law Dave Keil, sister in laws Claire Keil and Christina Binder. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews.

In a special message from his wife, Jennifer, she shares, "Mitchell was not only my husband but my best friend and the love of my life. I understand not everything is meant to last. I didn't think about that when everything felt perfect. Now that it's over, there's a huge hole in my heart—but there's also a pair of wings. Knowing him, wherever he is, I know he is happy, he’s flying and free. And I am here still grateful. Grateful that I had the chance to know him, to love him, and to carry his memory with me.”

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc. 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083.
