MIRIAM JANE LANGMADE
Miriam Jane Langmade, age 91, of Raymore, Missouri, went to be with the Lord at her home on Monday, February 27, 2020.
A visitation service will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Open Door Bible Church, 16211 US-71, Belton, Missouri 64012. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the Open Door Bible Church.
Born in Cumberland, IA on September 1, 1928, Miriam was the daughter of James F. Nichols and Erma N. (Miller) Nichols. After graduating high school, Miriam continued her education for two years at Midwest Bible and Missionary Institute. In the early summer of 1949, Miriam was joined in marriage with the love of her life, Douglas Langmade on June 1 st in St. Louis, Missouri. She worked primarily as a secretary for Calvary Bible College for eighteen years where Douglas was ministering. Together they were blessed with three children, Jane, Steve, and Ruth. In life Miriam enjoyed being a seamstress, reading, cross stitching, and was a member of the Open Door Bible Church in Belton, Missouri. Miriam was a prayer warrior to say the least, spending much time over seas with Douglas on mission trips. Together they traveled nine times to Brazil and three times to Russia.
Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, James and Erma Nichols; sister, Carol C. Johnson; three brothers, James A., Kendle M., and Charles A. Nichols; son Steve D. Langmade; and grandson in law, Van Spratford.
She is survived by her loving husband of over seventy years, Douglas C. Langmade; two daughters, Jane DeMoss (Larry) and Ruth M. Grimm (Randy); daughter in law, Kate Langmade; brother, Dean Lee Nichols (Norma); eight grandchildren, Jon DeMoss, Angie Hoffman (Geoff), Dave DeMoss (Alicia), Josh Langmade (Shelley), Matt Langmade (Allison), Amy Spratford, Sara Klaassen (Tim), and Michael Grimm (Serena); and eleven great grandchildren, Logan, Tatum, Bennett, Makenzie, Christian, Hannah, Benjamin, Rebecca, Lucy, Dylan, and Rex.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Open Door Bible Church, 16211 US-71, Belton, Missouri 64012 or Calvary University, 15800 Calvary Rd., Kansas City, Missouri 64147.
