MICHAEL JEROME SANDS

Michael Jerome Sands, age 56, of Grandview, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in Kansas City, Missouri.

A walk-through visitation will be held at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083 on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at York Cemetery in Bergman, Arkansas.

Michael was born in Harrison, Arkansas on June 19, 1963 to James Sands and Zettia (Strawhacker) Sands. Throughout Michael's life he became a jack of all trades, working in various capacities. He was blessed with three daughters, Amber, Almyra, and Paige but was a father to so many others. In life Michael was a giving man, often volunteering at the Harvester food bank and giving his time to so many others. There was never a time that you couldn't call on him, even just for a good laugh. Michael was a dog breeder, loved spending time outdoors (he was a proud hillbilly transplanted in the city), and lived for his time spent with his grandchildren.

Michael was preceded in death by his father James Sands; stepmother, Violet Sands; sister Barbara Stewart; and brother Brett Sands.

He is survived by his three loving daughters, Amber Cardona, Almyra Sands, and Paige Sands; life partner, Jamie Shepard; stepdaughter, Ashley Shepard; mother Zettia Sands; brothers, Scott Sands, Shawn Sands, Terry Shore, and Kelly Shore; sisters Tammy Hansen and Nikki Smith; four grandchildren, Mateo Jackson, Jaxson Garcia-Sands, Jeyda Cardona, and Juliana Garcia-Sands; and multiple nieces and nephews. As well as many other acquired family members that were near to his heart.
