Obituary

MICHAEL E. BROSS

Michael E. Bross, 48, passed away suddenly on January 27, 2018. A visitation 5-6 PM and memorial service 6 PM will be held Thursday, February 1st at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore.

Michael was born June 7, 1969 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Richard Bross and Ledia Flores.

Michael worked in the Telecommunications Industry for over 20 years, lately as Project Manager. He enjoyed physical fitness and trained to participate in the Tough Mudder races and, showing his generous nature, once carried a teammate on his back to help him finish the race. Michael was a loving father. Although he was not able to always live in the same area as his children because of his job, he provided for them and made extraordinary sacrifices to be with them during vacations and holidays to make the most of their time together. Michael had just recently moved back to Missouri to be close to his mom who was so happy to have his company in her home.

Michael's co-workers have sent numerous messages about his professionalism, his generosity, his infectious humor and his positive impacts. Everybody knew how passionate Michael was about so many current issues but it was all because of his care for others, and to right what he saw as injustices.

Michael, together with his cousins Eduardo and Delvar, set up a business selling their famous Panama Red hot sauce in California. The sauce won several awards including the Scovie award in 2011. He really loved being an entrepreneur and had hopes to build up this business.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lee Bross and step-mother, Mary, step-father, Peter G. Soderlund; and sister in-law, Kimberly Ann Bross.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his children, Jessica Bross, Christopher Michael Redenius, Emma Bross and Nicholas Bross; grandson, Talan Dill; mother, Ledia Soderlund; siblings, Ivonne Higuero, Rick Bross, Virginia "Sisie" Bross (David Folkers), Jeff Bross (Renee), Rhonda Verdic (Bob) and Kevin Wickwire (Tammy). Michael will also be greatly missed by Catherine Turner, Michael James Hartman, his nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for the Mike Bross Family Fund at gofundme.com to benefit his children.
