MERLE R. LIGHTCAP

Merle R. Lightcap, age 95, of Belton, Missouri passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, at Beautiful Savior Home, Belton, MO.

A Celebration of life visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc., 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083.

Merle was born in Stilwell, Kansas on February 13, 1929, the daughter of William Delause Huffman and Anna Cruishank. Merle was one of seven children. Merle met the love of her life Forest Lee Lightcap and later they were married on April 1, 1950. Together they were blessed with five children, Bea, Vicki, Virginia, Lois, and Lealyn. Merle loved spending time outdoors planting flowers and mowing the yard.

Merle was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Huffman; husband, Forest Lee Lightcap; son, Lealyn Lightcap; three grandchildren; and five siblings.

She is survived by her four daughters, Bea Diamond, Vicki Wilber, Virginia Fox (David), and Lois New (Tom); her twin sister, Pearl Young; one nephew, Donnie Huffman; ten grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
