MELVIN F. SCHROER
Melvin F. Schroer, 89, of Belton, MO passed away January 15, 2015. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Cullen Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 10 AM Monday, January 19, 2015 at Rock Brook Church 1715 E 173rd St, Belton, MO 64012 with graveside 1 PM in Longview Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Melvin was born September 26, 1925 in New Franklin, Missouri, the son of Edward H. and Lydia Bueker Schroer. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary M. Schroer; sister, Luella M. Kuschel and brother, Arthur J. Schroer. He is survived by his four children, Kenton D. Schroer and wife Paula, Sherri G. Fort, Shawn F. Schroer and wife Donna, and Lisa D. Kern and husband, Chris; nine grandchildren, James, Troy, Derek, Lindsey, Austin, Shanyn, Shelby, Patrick and Chance; five great grandchildren, Kayla, Steven, Alex, Wyatt and Everett; and one great great grandson, Jayden. Melvin was a member of the VFW #8100 in Grandview, MO and served in the US Army during World War II as a Paratrooper.
