MARYANN C. FERRARO SELL

Maryann Cowan Ferraro Sell, wife of Steven A. Sell and daughter of Hal D. and Susan J. Ferraro, Belton, MO passed away at Kansas City Hospice September 25, 2013 at the age of 50. Born in St. Joseph, MO, December 18, 1962, she moved to Belton in 1970. She graduated from Belton High School in 1981, honored as the most outstanding student in the industrial arts program, the first female student to receive this recognition. Graduating from CMSU in 1986 with a major in Industrial Arts and Technology, she continued a life-long interest in furniture design and wood working. She used her master skills throughout her career in Denver, Colorado. After returning to Belton, she reconnected with her college sweetheart, Steven, and they married on December 31, 2010. She was a regular volunteer at the Raymore Rehabilitation Center and oversaw the care of her life-long friends Ronnie and Pauline Wolfe of Belton. Maryann was confirmed at and a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Kansas City, MO. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Michele and Georgie Cowan Ferraro, Arcadia, KS and Edward G. and Susie Gay Joyner of Wilson, NC. She is survived by her husband, Steven A. Sell; parents; sister, Susan Ferraro (Ron Colby), Bella Vista, AR; brothers, Dean Ferraro (Kelley), Stillwell, KS, Michele Ferraro, Denver, CO; nieces, Jackie Keane (Chris), Overland Park, KS and Sarah Ferraro Maryland Heights, MO; nephew, Michele Ferraro, St. Louis, MO; in-laws, Louis and Mary Sell of Washington, MO and numerous extended family members. A visitation is planned for Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, MO from 5-7 PM. The funeral will be a St. Peter's Episcopal Church 100 E. Red Bridge Rd. KCMO on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM, preceded by a reception at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Help Humane Society, 17122 Bel Ray Place, Belton, MO 64012, Kansas City Hospice House 12000 Wornall Rd, KCMO, St. Peter's Episcopal Church or the American Cancer Society for ovarian cancer research.
