MARY LUCILLE ROBERSON

Mary Lou Roberson, age 72, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at her home.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Cullen Funeral Home.

Mary was born on August 29, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the daughter of Oatis Oakley Roberson and Mary Louise (Swearingin) Roberson. Growing up, Mary was one of two children, her brother Michael Connor. After graduating high school Mary began her calling as an educator. Earning a Master's Degree in Education at South Central Missouri State formerly CMSU, and completing four years of post-graduate work, Mary lived to help others learn. Mary's strength in teaching came from her non-traditional methods of incorporating different material to meet the needs of her students. After forty years as an educator, Mary retired but still held a passion in helping others learn. In 1984 Mary joined the Raymore Christian Church and was a member there ever since.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Oatis Oakley and Mary Louise Roberson; and her brother Michael Connor.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Renee Shannon Hickey (partner, John Watson); sister in law, Barbara Connor; grandchildren, Arianna Hickey and Mira Hickey; and two nieces, Cherie Shepherd (husband Doug) and Susan Lambros (husband Mark).
