Obituary

MARY L. PENDERGRAFT

Mary L. Pendergraft, age 83, of Belton, Missouri, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 16, 2026, surrounded by love and family.

Mary was a woman of deep and abiding faith. She trusted fully in the promises of God and lived her life grounded in Scripture. One of the passages she held dear was Psalm 23, which begins, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." Mary rested in that truth, confident that her Shepherd would lead her safely home.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Sherman Pendergraft, and by her daughter, Teresa Ann Drake, who passed away on November 6, 2025. Teresa is survived by her children, Jessica Drake and Jake Drake, whom Mary loved dearly.

Mary is survived by her son, Jeff Pendergraft and his wife, Martha, and her grandson, Christopher Pendergraft and his wife, Hope. She is also survived by her sisters, Freda, Janice, and Judy, along with extended family and friends who were blessed by her kindness and steady presence.

Mary's greatest desire was that others would know the hope she had in Christ. She believed wholeheartedly the truth of Romans 10:9:
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Her life reflected that faith, and her legacy is one of kindness, love, perseverance, and unwavering belief.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc. 612 W. Foxwood Dr.,  Raymore, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Mary will then be laid to rest at Peculiar Cemetery in Peculiar, Missouri.

In keeping with Mary's wishes, memorial donations may be made to Beyond Faith and Hope Hospice of New Braunfels, Texas, in lieu of flowers. https://www.hopehospice.net/donate

The family takes comfort in knowing that Mary now dwells in the presence of the Lord.
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." (Psalm 23:6)
