IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Catherine
Cobb

MARY CATHERINE COBB
Mary Catherine "Cathy" Cobb, 75, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on April 23, 2025. Born on August 12, 1949, in Kansas City, Kansas, Cathy brought warmth and joy to those around her throughout her vibrant life.
Cathy was the daughter of Margaret "Peggy" and Shannon DeWeese. She grew up surrounded by the love of her family and carried that spirit of connection into every chapter of her life. Her optimistic outlook and spirited personality made her a beacon of positivity to all who knew her.
She shared many cherished years with her beloved husband, Bill Cobb, whose memory she held dear following his passing. Together they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and enduring companionship.
Cathy's greatest pride was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Doctor Robin Cockrell (Thomas) and Amy Vandenbrul (Jeff), as well as her step-son William Cobb (Caitlin). Her grandchildren, Chloe and River, and step grandchildren Skyler and Sonny, as well as her great grandchild Ryder, brought immense joy to her life and were often the center of her stories and smiles. Cathy also shared a close bond with her sisters Carol Thompkins, Lori Abshire, and Sandy Hare.
A woman of many passions, Cathy found delight in traveling to new places and exploring the world's beauty—especially its lighthouses. She loved boating on peaceful waters, baking treats for loved ones, decorating spaces with flair and creativity, gardening for wildlife, and spending time with animals. Her home was often filled with laughter from social gatherings where she shined as a friendly and fun-loving host. Cathy was an avid reader and took great pride in teaching her grandchildren to read and providing library books for them every week of their young lives; however, the life lessons she taught them were far more inspirational as she taught them to love life and experience all it has to offer. Cathy's focus on spreading joy and kindness will live on through all of her descendents.
Cathy's personality was magnetic—she was known for being easy to talk to, loyal to those she cared about, dependable in times of need, and always ready with a sarcastic quip or a joyful laugh. Her happiness was infectious; she had an uncanny ability to lift spirits simply by being herself.
May Mary Catherine "Cathy" Cobb's memory bring comfort to all who knew her and continue to inspire joy in the hearts she leaves behind. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Bill and Cathy's Home 20001 South Cleveland Avenue. Cathy requested to not have a funeral but focus on celebrating life instead. We hope to share many memories about Cathy during her this time and share how she touched lives with kindness, humor, strength, and unwavering love. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to The Susan G. Komen Foundation or The World Wildlife Fund.
