MARY L. CLAYTON
Mary L. Clayton, 94, of Independence, MO passed July 3, 2015. Graveside will be 1 PM Monday, July 6, 2015 at Belton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Preferred Hospice 601 South Hwy, Lexington, MO 64067. Mary was born September 22, 1920 of Dixon, Ohio, the daughter of Fred B. and Nell (Hardsaw) Rhoda. They moved later to Belton, Missouri in 1925. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loyd Clayton of 25 years; daughter, Sharon and son in-law, Rick. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Dennis); step-sons, Jim (Elizabeth) and Ken (Carol); three granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; niece, great niece and great-great niece. Mary attended Belton High School and UMKC. She retired from AT&T in 1987 with 25 years of service. She was an active member of the Lee's Summit Telephone Pioneers, Belton Historical Society, D.A.V. Club, American Legion Post 151, Eagles Club #3717 and the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
