MARVIN E. HENRICH

Marvin Henrich, age 70, lost his nearly yearlong battle with lung cancer and died on October 27, 2020 at his home in Raymore, Missouri, surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife of fourty-eight years, Karen McLaughlin Henrich, children Christopher  (Chip) Henrich and his two children, Jesse Henrich and Lilly Henrich of Belton, Missouri; and daughter, Kelly Henrich Spiller Hoover, her husband Travis Hoover, and their children, Rylee, Mackenzey, and Peyton Spiller, and Maddox Hoover, of Raymore, Missouri; by his older brother, John Henrich of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and his wife Bernadette (Bernie), nephew Jason Henrich (Melissa) of Shawnee, Kansas, and niece Sheri Henrich Danielson (Mike) of Elm Grove, Wisconsin, nephew Tom Henrich (Sarah) of Aurora, Colorado; and younger brother Robert Potyandy and his wife Sandra (Sandy) of Derby, Kansas, niece Kelly Potyandy Smith (Troy) and nephew Michael Potyandy (Farida).

Marvin was born in Washington, Iowa to Marie Greiner Henrich Potyandy and Milton Henrich, both deceased. He grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and spent summers with his grandmother, Marie Baker Greiner, in Keota, Iowa. He was a graduate of Milwaukee South Division High School and Park University, Parkville, Missouri.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force as a Computer Specialist and stationed at Scott AFB, Illinois and Richards-Gebaur AFB, Missouri. He met and married his wife, Karen, while stationed in Kansas City and they made their home in the Grandview, Belton, Raymore area. Marvin completed his first enlistment with the Air Force and pursued a successful civilian career with the 2199 th Computer Services Squadron at Richards-Gebaur AFB and with the Marine Corps Reserve Support Center in south Kansas City, where he retired after 36 years of service.

Marvin was an active parent coach for many of his children's soccer, T-ball, and softball teams. He was an active member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, participating in many years of annual benefit floorshows as a fundraiser for the VA Hospital. He enjoyed square dancing with the Live Wires Square Dance Club, bowling, golf, and pool with various local leagues.

A private mass for family and close friends will be held at St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Trevis Ave., Belton, Missouri on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, with interment at Green Lawn Cemetery immediately following.

The family suggests contributions to St. Sabina Catholic Church in lieu of flowers.
