María Guadalupe “Lupe” Orozco

María Guadalupe “Lupe” Orozco, age 101, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026. She was born on July 14, 1925, in Zapotlanejo, Jalisco, Mexico, to José Guadalupe and Rosa (Hernández) Zamarripa.

Lupe married Roberto Orozco, on October 12, 1955. They shared many wonderful years together until his passing in 1982.

Lupe will be lovingly remembered by her five children: Veronica (John) Cisetti, Rebecca (Donald) Poindexter, Gloria (Patrick) Madden, David (Susan) Orozco, and Celia (Dennis) Squires. She was a beloved grandmother to 17 grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to 26 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought great joy to her life.

Lupe had a special gift for making people feel at home. She was a wonderful cook, and her home was often filled with the comforting aromas of her cooking, laughter, and the warmth of family gathered together. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and quick wit. She cherished her family deeply and created memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

Her life was a beautiful example of the values she held dear: faith, generosity, love, and devotion to family. A longtime resident of the Belton-Raymore area, Lupe was a member of St. Sabina Catholic Church since 1960. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Drive, Raymore, Missouri. The Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 P.M. during the visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Trevis Avenue, Belton, Missouri, on Tuesday, September 29, at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow immediately afterwards at Belton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lupe’s memory to St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Trevis Avenue, Belton, Missouri 64012.
